GHOST's Milwaukee Concert Cut Short After Fan Collapses, Dies
June 1, 2018According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, GHOST's sold-out concert in Milwaukee Thursday night (May 31) was canceled after a fan collapsed. He died later in the night.
The incident occurred just as the band had announced an intermission at the 2,500-capacity Riverside Theater around 9:15 p.m.
After a man in the pit fell to the ground, security was flagged and CPR was administered. Approximately a half hour later, it was announced that the show was canceled. Staff at the Riverside reportedly told fans the show was cut short because of a "terrible tragedy."
"Tonight, in Milwaukee, there was a medical emergency with one of our fans," GHOST said in a statement on Twitter late Thursday. "We decided not to continue out of respect to him and his family. GHOST and all who work with us ask that you please send the family your thoughts, prayers and respect their privacy during this time."
The Milwaukee Fire Department confirmed to CBS 58 that one person was transported to the hospital.
GHOST's new album, "Prequelle", is being released today (Friday, June 1) via Loma Vista Recordings. The record was tracked last year at Artery studios in Stockholm with Tom Dalgety (OPETH, ROYAL BLOOD) and mixed in January at Westlake Studios in West Hollywood, California with Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, SLAYER).
